“Nue” is a specter which has a monkey’s head, a tiger’s body, and a snake’s tail, and it appears from black smoke with the spooky voice “hyou hyou”. The “Nue Barai Festival” is based on an old story of Genzanmi Yorimasa. It has reached the 53rd time this time and has a history of more than half a century.

The local junior high school students perform Nue Odori. A Big Nue, a middle size Nue and small Nue performs.

The “Nue Barai Festival” is traditional and has a very unusual style. There is also a bow demonstration by popular archery families.

Please come and see us all in the announcement of the New Year.
